Saturday June 12, 2010 marks the second annual Red Skelton Festival with a
“Parade of 1000 Clowns” in Vincennes Indiana. The parade is followed by a
“Paint the Town Red” Festival, with fun, good food, entertainment,
inflatables and games for kids.

Brian Hoffman’s celebrity impersonation of Red Skelton has been enjoyed by
thousands of people who visit Las Vegas. Now the people of Red’s hometown
of Vincennes Indiana will feel the love Brian has for “America’s Favorite
Clown”.

Brian Hoffman started doing comedy over 15 years ago. Never in his wildest
dreams did he think he would end up in Las Vegas performing in his own
afternoon show as Red Skelton.

When asked, “How did you ever decide to become a Red Skelton
impersonator?” the answer is always the same. Brian smiles and says, “It
wasn’t my idea, I believe it was His.”

“At first I just thought they were pulling my leg when strangers would
tell me I reminded them of Red Skelton.” says Brian, “But when enough
people tell you something, you tend to start believing in it!”

After hearing about the Red Skelton Festival in June, Brian’s wife
insisted that he take a week off from performing in Las Vegas to go see
the home town of the man he impersonates.

The week will be packed full of things to do like tours of the oldest
church in Indiana, Basilica of St. Francis Xavier or “The Old Cathedral”,
George Rogers Clark National Historical Park, the Abe Lincoln Trail,
Vincennes State Historic Sites, “Grouseland”, mansion and museum of
William Henry Harrison, 9th U.S. President and the Indiana Military Museum
and a self guided tour of Red Skelton’s boyhood home.

A friend of mine is thinking of starting up service that would provide 'technology assistance' to anyone, shall we say, a little behind the eight ball when it comes to doing things online or trying to figure out how to send pictures through text message on their cell phone. The idea would be having one dedicated person you could call or email for whatever computer, gadget or general technology question you have.

I thought it sounded great because truthfully there are really only a couple of things I go online for (email, pictures, etc) but could definitely use some help from time to time. Would be great to have an actual person to call to ask my 'dumb' questions to. But I'm curious if that's something other 'boomers' would use or if I'm just even behind the curve for our generation?

I'd be curious to hear your thoughts if you're interested in sharing. Thanks!
