A friend of mine is thinking of starting a 'technology assistance' service for people, shall we say, that are not so technology inclined (such as myself). The idea would be you would have one person you could call for whatever gadget or computer question, like what's wrong with my email or how do I send pictures through text message on my cell phone.

I thought it sounded great but was curious to see what other 'boomers' would think of such an idea. I usually online go online to send emails or look at pictures so I would love to have one person to call to ask all my 'dumb' questions to but I'm not sure if I'm just way behind the curve even for my generation.

If you're interested in sharing your thoughts I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

I've never bought into the hype of aging or becoming my dad's Oldsmobile sedan now that I'm past the milestone of thirty. I honestly don't feel compromised physically as I've always been an avid exercise enthusiast so my lifestyle hasn't changed any. What I have noticed is that I've reinvented myself to keep up with my intellectual growth and evolving interests.

We Baby Boomers are in our prime!

Eva,
I only know that I used to run track in school and now I can barely walk up the stairs. <img src="http://babyboomersus.net/my-plugins/pb--bb-smilies/default/icon_cry.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />
I've been making a concerted effort to do more walking, a little at a time. I can't wait til spring and maybe make it all the way around the block! <img src="http://babyboomersus.net/my-plugins/pb--bb-smilies/default/icon_wink.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />

Beautygrl,

You're absolutely right. For years I'd been an avid jogger, then switched to working out on the elliptical trainer. The impact is too jarring as our cartilage wears and we haven't the cushion we used to.

I work with a trainer for 3 months and then 3 months off.

Using the trainer helps me to keep a program together that works for me.

I am actually getting stronger and able to do more exercises with greater intensity.

Hey Beautygrl,
Thanks for the link, I think they may be a little easier on my hips since I can't run (and barely walk sometimes).
Gotta check out more.

Hey boomers,

Just wanted to talk about how your fitness routine has changed. I'm a health nut, but I can't keep up with my old routine (too hard on the knees). I've turned to fitness videos; my favorites are by Mirabai Holland, called Moving Free. They're great--I never feel too sore in the morning, and there's no stress on my joints. Check her out at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Moving-Free/174976698070?ref=ts if you're lookin' for a good workout!

What's your fitness routine now that we're gettin' old and gray?

Frankly, at this stage of life I thought where I lived would have been a gimmie. However, due to some personal and life changes, I have had to move back in with my x-wife.
It's not really a bad arrangement, but my cash flow isn't what it used to be and sometimes I am just plain embarrassed to admit that I can't do some of the things I used to do without giving it a second thought (going to the Ball game, jumping in the car and taking a day trip, just going out to dinner).
Life is still good, just different!
